Mária Krivošíková, M.Sc Title: Home-based handwriting therapy programme for seniors: pilot study Abstract: Writing is one of the important skills that is used in everyday life. Significant problems with writing in the elderly occur due to a health problem rather than as a result of natural ageing. There are not enough materials in the Czech Republic to train functional writing in adults and seniors. The aim of this thesis is to design a home-based therapy programme aimed at training functional writing for seniors and to test its feasibility from the perspective of occupational therapists and clients. To accomplish the objective, four research questions are chosen for the thesis. The thesis developed a workbook for writing training which consists of several parts, the worksheets are divided into three levels of difficulty. This therapeutic material was subsequently validated with clients and therapists. The method of case studies was chosen. Four clients participated in the therapeutic programme and it lasted for four weeks. Comparision of the musical component of the Good Method in the Czech and Polish versions

The subject of the bachelor thesis is a comparison of the musical component in the Polish and Czech versions of the Good Start Method. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the detailed characteristics of the method, history and spread of the Good Start Method in Poland and the Czech Republic. It follows the common features and differences of both versions of the method. It deals with the role of music and musical activities in the Good Start Method and in the educational process. It takes into account the peculiarities of psychomotor and musical development of preschool children. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis is devoted to the comparison of the musical component in the Polish and Czech versions of the method, with special attention to the problem of matching the rhythmic components with the movement of the child's hand when drawing a graphic pattern. The thesis uses for this purpose a detailed analysis of the musical factors of the songs presented in the Polish version of the Good Start Method. In comparison, it uses Milena Kmentová's conclusions from her research on the musical component of the Czech version of the method. Motor skills in a preschool child with impaired communication ability

The topic of the bachelor's thesis is motor skills and graphomotor skills in a preschool child with impaired communication ability. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is the training and practice of gross motor skills, oromotor skills and graphomotor skills in preschool children with impaired communication skills aged five to six years who attend a speech therapy class established at a regular kindergarten. Another goal was to develop a methodological program. One of the partial goals was to observe and shoot a selected research sample during activities developing motor skills. The theoretical part deals with the topic of impaired communication skills in preschool children, the possibility of requesting a postponement of compulsory school attendance and also selected cognitive functions affecting motor activities. The main part of the theoretical work consists of the chapter on motor skills, which includes motor skills, gross motor skills and coordination of movement, graphomotor skills, oromotor skills and also fine motor skills. The content of the next part consists of laterality and speech therapy in the Czech Republic. In the practical part, the method of observation was applied, mainly due to video recording and also the method of individual approach and interview. The methodical program for the development of motor skills contains methodical procedures of exercises, elements from the field of oromotor skills and graphomotor sheets. All these materials were applied for one month and evaluated according to selected or elected evaluation scales. The results are successful, as all children from the selected research sample improved in all stimulated areas.

The bachelor thesis is based on the current need to support children´s motor skills, thein interest in getting aktive and providing these activities for two or free year old children at nursery schools. The aim of the thesis is to create a set of motivated motor skills activities and prove thein suitability and attractiveness for children. The theoretical part describes gross motor skills, fine motor skills and graphomotor skills of children between two and three years of age. The conditions for these activities, methods and form of their realization at nursery school are also depicted in the theoretical part. The work focuses on the issue of graphomotor skills in preschool children with an emphasis on work habits and their development before starting school. The aim of the work is to find out how the created program focused on the development of work habits affects the level of graphomotor skills and also the motivation to draw in general. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the period of preschool child with emphasis on the development of graphomotor skills, work habits. The development of fine motor and graphomotor skills in forest kindergartens

Bachelor's thesis deals with the development of fine motor skills and graphomotor skills in the forest kindergartens from the perspective of people who work there. Based on the information provided and from personal experience, a "program" for the development of fine motor and graphomotor skills in the forest and outdoor environment is crated. The theoretical part includets chapters abou the history of forest kindergartens in our country and abroad, their operating conditions and philosophy. The child's motor development with a focus on fine motor skills and graphomotor skills is being discussed and examined with regards to the development of child's graphic expression, work habits, graphomotor exercises and the causes of graphomotor difficulties. The last chapter is examining the natural environment influences on child's development. Practical part is created from the research survey, it includes answered questions related to the aim of this work and a "program" for the development of fine motor and graphomotor skills in the forest and outdoor environment.

The topic of this bachelor´s thesis is development of graphomotor skills of pre-school age and early school age children. The aim is creation of supportive programme for the development of the graphomotor skills and its verification in practice. The theoretical part is devoted to the systems influencing the motor skills development. This part of thesis describes also the entire area of motor skills and other relating topics such as working habits for drawing and writing, laterality, pre-school age and early school age. The practical part deals with creation and realization of supportive programme for chosen group of children. It is focused on the development of graphomotor skills by a comprehensive way. The evaluation of the gained data and the analysis of the results are also a component of the practical part of the thesis.
Handwriting assessment in patients after stroke.

The thesis deals with graphomotor skills in adult patients after stroke. The aim of the thesis is to map the need for and method of assessing graphomotor skills in adults by non- medical professions using a questionnaire survey. Another aim is to find out the level of graphomotor skills in adult post-stroke patients using the Handwritind Assessment Battery for aduls. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on a brief description of stroke and its impact on hand function and writing. It gives a summary of graphomotor difficulties after stroke, possible graphomotor evaluation and the method of rehabilitation intervention. The practical part deals with the mapping of the situation regarding the assessment of graphomotor skills by various non-medical and non-health professions in the Czech Republic and points out the missing areas in the current assessment of graphomotor skills used in practice. The questionnaire survey was conducted from November 2021 to February 2022 and a total of 368 respondents reacted. It was found that the most frequent assessment of graphomotor skills is carried out by clinical speech and language therapists and special pedagogues. Handwriting in a healthy adult population.

Handwriting is part of the graphomotor skills necessary for functional communication in everyone's life. The field of adult handwriting is not sufficiently developed in the Czech Republic yet. This thesis focuses on handwriting in a healthy adult population. The main aim is to describe adult handwriting, individual parameters of writing, factors influencing writing and to present the current possibilities of handwriting assessment. The theoretical work also discusses the benefits of handwriting, the benefits and negative consequences of modern technology on handwriting performance. The aim of the practical part is to describe the differences in the level of handwriting between younger (age 20-29) and older (70+) adults and thus to contribute to the development of standards for the Czech version of the Handwtiting Assessment Battery for Adults (HAB) in healthy adult population. The data were collected using the HAB instrument in the sample of 141 individuals. It is quantitative type of work. The data collection was based on stratified random sampling, the data were statistically processed and subsequently tested against the established hypotheses.
